Licensing/Recruitment Program

The licensing process begins by contacting BCYS at 773.487.8644.
Prospective foster parents are then invited to an information meeting where
they can learn more about foster parenting.  If they meet the requirements and
wish to proceed, they participate in a 10-week pre-service training course,
and a licensing representative assesses the strengths and qualifications of the
applicant.

  •  Must be at least 21 years old

  •  Are willing to submit to a criminal background check

  •  Love children

  •  Are able to meet the demands of  children  on a 24 hours basis

  •  Financially able to care for yourself and your own family

Children are matched with foster homes based on the individual
needs of the child and the interests and circumstances of the foster parents.

Foster children range in age from infants to teens.  Since the goal is to keep
brothers and sisters together, homes that will accept sibling groups are in
great demand.  There is also always a great need for foster homes for
adolescents and teens.
