Beatrice Caffrey Youth Service
Transitional Living

The agency’s Transitional Living Program is committed to providing individualized
services to youth between the ages of 17-21 years of age  that are wards of the
Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

This population of youth has been unable to meet the guidelines established by the
IDCFS (high school diploma/or it equivalent, six months of employment) for placement
in an Independent Living Program necessitating their involvement in more intensive
services to assist them towards successful emancipation.

Services are individualized and based on a social case work model utilizing a strength
based approach to enable the participants to adequately begin the process of
addressing their needs in the areas of education/vocation, substance abuse/use,
domestic violence, crime reduction/elimination, mental health services, medication
maintenance, socialization and employment.

The program operates out of two sites one for female participants and the other
one for male participants.
